Hemophobula is a wannabe vampire who is attending school to learn to become a count like his favorite Hollywood idol, Count Dracula.
The only problem is... Hemphobula is the exact opposite of EVERYTHING that a vampire is.
- Instead of having a smooth, beguiling voice, Hemophobula talks with a bit of a stutter and has a hard time getting anything out
- As opposed to the tall, lithe build and handsome good looks of the vampires we're used to... Hemophobula is about 3 feet tall with an oversized cape that trails the ground behind him and he has big buck toothed fangs and bugged out eyes.
- He has allergy problems, garlic is one of his favorite foods and HE FAINTS AT THE SIGHT OF BLOOD!
This is one of the most entertaining books I've read lately.
Even though it was written for the children's fiction books genre, both myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed through the whole book.
It is hard not to feel bad for poor Hemophobula at times because he has such a hard time trying to get through his classes, but that never once stops him from trying his hardest.
Even though he is the WORST vampire wannabe in his class, not once does he ever give up. And that is one of the best lessons a child can learn.
Kids love laughing through funny books and each of Hemophobula's classes ends up in a hilarious disaster that will have them laughing long after the last page has been turned.
This is a really delightful read from beginning to end. You'll love it as much as the kids do!
It's a short story... about 29 pages in full with wonderfully funny illustrations to go along with the story and a Hemophobula finger puppet too.
Hemophobula: The Wannabe Vampire is perfect for reading out loud to a classroom of kids or as a family.
