The Short Death of Phineas Bean

by Leslie Rapkine
(La Habra, Ca.)

It was a fun read. Like a dark Harry Potter meets Beetlejuice.

Very imaginative use of the Afterlife.

City of Bones

city of bones

I love this series!!!!!!!

I loved the whole City of Bones series!!!! It was amazing.

The characters change throughout the series (sometimes literally), and you never know what to expect.

The book takes the traditional look on vampires, fairies, werewolves, demons and warlocks, and adds an entirely new spin to them.

This series is just amazing and I can't wait to see if Cassandra Clare writes another book. : )

Books in the Mortal Instruments Series:

City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls

The Summoning

The Summoning

The Summoning is AWESOME! It is so easy to feel like your part of the story that it's nearly impossible not to get sucked in. You will be hooked the moment you turn the first page.

Chloe Saunders wants nothing more than to be a normal teenager. Meeting boys, having fun with friends and being ordinary. Unfortunately, life had a few extraordinary surprises in store for her instead.

Not only can she see the dead, but she's been diagnosed as a schizophrenic and placed into a home for troubled teens called Lyle House. Only Lyle House isn't quite what it seems, and as Chloe soon finds out... it's hiding some very dark and deadly secrets.

They've been experimenting with gene mutation. And after communicating with the ghosts of their victims, Chloe and a few newfound supernatural friends escape from the unsettling eeriness of their prison.

I've heard a lot of good, and some mixed reviews about this series, and I do plan to read it soon.

I actually have it on audio because I planned on listening to it but I really didn't enjoy the reader very well. I will just have to try it again... or go get it in paperback. : )

It sounds like a series Aaron and I would both enjoy. are our most favorite fiction books to read.

Thanks for the recommendation, I look forward to posting my review for the first book.
