Read The House of Night: Tempted Review
I'm really at a loss for words after reading this book. Tempted was a really good book.
There were so many revelations and shocking moments that I can't even begin to sum it up without giving the best parts away. I've read it twice and still cannot believe what happens in the end.
Summary for HON: Tempted
Enter the dark, magical world of the House of Night. A world very much like our own, except here vampires have always existed.
If you can't trust your best friend with your deepest, darkest secret, who can you trust?
Zoey wasn't a moron. She knew something was wrong. That was obvious, but how could Stevie Rae even start to tell her?
There was just so much to explain. He was just so much to explain. And she'd never meant for any of it to happen.
Dark secrets and unspoken suspicions come between Zoey and Stevie Rae, putting their friendship- and the House of Night- at risk.
After Zoey Redbird and her gang have banished Kalona and Neferet from Tulsa, you'd think they'd catch a break. But with Zoey and her sexy warrior Stark both recovering from a brush with death, and the fledglings struggling to deal with the fallout from Neferet's reign of terror, a break is just not in the forecast.
Zoey is haunted by her confusing yet elemental connection with A-ya, the ancient Cherokee maiden who was the only human able to tempt Kalona's body and soul. How will A-ya's pull on her affect Zoey's ability to resist the dangerously seductive immortal?
Meanwhile, Stevie Rae, with her super red-vamp powers, always thought she could handle the stuff she's been keeping from her BFF. But the mysterious, threatening force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading.
Stevie Rae won't confide where she's been and what she's doing, and Zoey is beginning to wonder just how much she can trust the person she always thought would have her back.
At the start of this heart-pounding new installment in the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey's friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren't Neferet's secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged.
Will their choices destroy them and will darkness consume the House of Night? Find out in this next spectacular installment in the bestselling House of Night series.

Let me first say that the only beef I have with this series is that each book doesn't seem to progress the story very far. Yes, a lot can happen in a short amount of time, but why the hell is Neferet still breathing. And what about Kalona? I figured by this point Zoey would have put a major beat down on them like nobody's business, but that has yet to happen and it's kind of disappointing.
Anyway, on with the review...
Tempted is one of my favorite installments of the House of Night series, to date. Once again, P.C. Cast left me hanging, but after the ending of this book, which by the way was a shocker, Zoey is definitely going to have to kick some serious butt. I cannot believe what happened to Heath! And why did Zoey's tatoos disappear?
I have so many questions after finishing this book it's not even funny.
I am definitely loving Stark right now. He is so darn sexy it hurts. The deep emotional connection he has to Zoey makes the chemistry between them really intense. I'm not sure what P.C. is planning, but hopefully Stark is here to stay.
And what about Stevie Rae imprinting with Rephaim- a frickin' Raven Mocker? Seriously? Hopefully he turns out to be a good guy and doesn't betray her and go running back to Kalona.
I must say, it's definitely an interesting scenerio, and a very unexpected one at that. Let's hope the two of them work together to deal with those nasty red fledglings who are still following Neferet.
And, now that Aphrodite is no longer imprinted with Stevie Rae, maybe she and Darius will... ahem... imprint? It certainly won't be as awkward now that Stevie Rae can't feel everything that goes on between them.
Still, despite all the unanswered questions I have and the fact that Neferet and Kalona are still alive and well, I really enjoyed this book.
Tempted was full of shocking revelations and crazy surprises that I most definitely did not see coming. Though I expected something to go wrong, I never once guessed what it would be.
And when it happened my mouth dropped open and I was momentarily speachless before my lips started flapping. I couldn't decide whether to be happy, sad, pissed or just flat out stunned stupid.
